Biography
Richard has completed his PhD in 1996 at the Institute of Applied Mechanics (TU Braunschweig, Germany). Following this he worked in industry. Since 2000 Richard has been working at the DLR Institute of Composite Structures and Adaptive Systems. Since 2008 he is professor for mechanics of composite structures at the University of Applied Sciences Göttingen (50%) in Stade and still 50% at DLR. In his current position at DLR he is senior scientist in the field of composite structures. He has published more than 50 papers in reputed journals and has been serving as an editorial board member in several journals.
